Racing Around.

Well, since my last update I've been keeping plenty busy.

I was lucky enough to get picked up by Easley-Dunn Games for an internship.
So far it's been excellent. I've been given the opportunity to work with the team on environment art pieces on the iOs title Robot Race.

At the moment we're currently working on two new levels that are being released in the next update.

I'll be sharing some work from these projects as I can.

Also keeping me busy, I'm currently doing some amazing classes through the new CDW Studios, run by Simon Scales.

CDW is a brilliant new art school focused on the entertainment industry. My Digital Painting class, run by Simon, and my Creature Design class, run by Nick Pill, have so far been invaluable sources of learning and skills development.
I'll be posting up some work from CDW very soon.  For now, check below for Robot Race work.

Underwater Speedpaintsssss

"Fisn 'n' Ships"
This fella was a speedpaint from the other week. It was a good chance for some practice on a few techniques I hadn't used before.

Hand Painted Sci-Fi Blade

Here's the final product of my latest mini-project.
Based off some original concept art I created, I spent a bit of time modelling & texturing this guy for some low poly hand-painted fun. (Click for high-res.)

Anyone that didn't pick it. Inspired by THIS GUY. >>http://ow.ly/cOXgU

Older work before newer work. Don't be impatient now.

Before I get to the fresh art, I figure I should get some of my slightly less recent stuff, just to show what I've been up to.

Hand painted material studies: These are some of my favourite things to do when I'm in one of those "What to paint?" moods.

This was the sword & shield combo I hand painted a while ago. It was part of a tutorial done by Tyson Murphy on 3D motive.
This was mad fun to do.

Introduction to an Art Fiend

Alrighty guys. Hey, hello and all of that.

I thought it high time I get around to making one of these. It seems to be the "in thing" with art types these days. (I already keep an art tumblr blog, but that's more of an art dump rather than art blog>>>http://cray-goats.tumblr.com/).

Anyway, to keep things short and sweet.
My name is Craig. I'm an environment artist, both 2D and 3D. My main focuss is on creating 3D art assets for video game environments. I also have a strong love of rad 2D art, so I constantly try my best to improve those 2D skills, to use for creating concept art that I can use in 3D projects.

I'll keep this up to date as regular as I can with work and studies I produce, as well as my thoughts and experiences from time to time.

Let this be the beginning of a beautiful journey with all of you fancy folk.
